The Art of Lost Words
Webb & Webb Director Brian Webb was in Plymouth yesterday for the opening of the touring exhibition The Art of Lost Words. 
Among the other 41 participants are Angus Hyland, Andy Altmann of Why Not  Associates, Jonathan Ellery, Spin, David Pearson, Mike Dempsey, David  Quay and Alan Kitching, and each has produced a piece of work based on a  seldom used word he or she has selected from the English dictionary. The exhibition, originally held in the German Gymnasium in London in  2009, was opened by text/gallery curator Rebecca Pohancenik who you can  see with Brian Webb’s Plegnic poster above.
The exhibition is on show at the Peninsula Arts Gallery, University of Plymouth until 28 April 2011.
(plegnic adj 1612-1664 acting by a blow; striking like a hammer; percussive. ‘Her plegnic pounding of the piano-keys contrasted sharply with her tiny frame.’)
